Medical identity theft occurs whensomeone steals or uses your personal medical information (like yourname, Social Security number, or Medicare number), to submitfraudulent claims to Medicare and other health insurers withoutyour authorization. Medical identity theft can disrupt your medicalcare, and wastes taxpayer dollars.
