Read the Procedure/Data Sheet to gain insight on how the data was collected. The photo above is an image of a cart with an attached Force Sensor, the TARE button on the side is used to 'zero' the Force sensor. When the TARE button is momentarily pressed, the value of the Force sensor will be set to zero. For this experiment, the TARE button should be pressed when no force (pulling or pushing) is acting on the hook. Also note the cord. During data collection, it is important to ensure the cord is not exerting a force on the cart. i.e. the cart should not be dragging the cord during data collection. Question 7 6 pts The following data was collected with a 35g hanging mass. Select all of the statements that are true. The Static tension should equal approximately 0.3430 N. The amount of time data was collected for the Static Tension is suspect. An approximate average of zero for the Static Tension is OK The TARE button was pressed while the 35g mass was hanging from the hook of the force sensor. A negative Dynamic Tension is suspicious. Question 8 6 pts Part IV: Data Analysis of the written Newton's 2nd Law Activity requires creating a scatter plot of Acceleration vs tension. Select all of the statements that are true. Acceleration should be plotted on the y-axis Tension should be plotted on the x-axis Acceleration should be plotted on the x-axis The slope of the plot is equal to the cart's mass Tension should be plotted on the y-axis The slope of the plot is equal to the inverse of the cart's mass Question 9 5 pts A lab partner tabulated the data from all of the data runs as shown below. Hanging Static Tension Acceleration Imis / Mass la INN Question 9 5 pts A lab partner tabulated the data from all of the data runs as shown below. Hanging Static Tension Acceleration Mass (g) (N) (m/s/s) 20 0.19600 10.22532 30 10.29400 10.33539 0.39200 0.44195 50 0.49000 0.54732 160 10.58800 10.64747 140 By inspection (there should be no need to calculate anything), identify the row of data that is suspicious and probably is the result of an error during data collection. Use the value of the hanging mass to identify the suspicious data. 20 g 608 50 g nn
