Construct liquid-vapour and solid-vapour phase boundaries for iodine 12 given the following: ► Enthalpy of vaporization = 41.57 kJ/mol ► Enthalpy of fusion = 14.73 kJ/mol Normal boiling point = 386.8K The sublimation pressure is 52.5 Torr at 113.6°C Make a table of P (atm) and T (K) using reasonable range of temperatures. The table must include the given normal freezing/boiling/sublimation points and include also the triple point. These are the points you use to make a plot. You do that for both boundaries. • Show one example of your calculations for both phase boundaries (total of 2 examples only). • Make a plot of p (atm) versus T (K) for all the points in the table and write all labels on the plot. Estimate the triple point temperature and pressure. • Comment on slope of the two boundaries.
