A sample of a domestic wastewater with a specific conductivity (SC) of 1000 us/cm has been examined for its solid contents. A 50 ml of its sample was evaporated on hot-plate and then dried in an oven at 103-105 °C. Upon evaporation and drying of the sample, the weight of solids was determined as 0.07 gram. In a separate experiment, another 50 ml of the sample was filtrated through 0.45 micron pore-sized membrane filter, and then upon evaporation and drying of the filtered water the solid content was determined as 0.05 gram. Assuming 70% of total solids in this wastewater is non-volatile, calculate: a) Total Solids (TS) as mg/L. b) Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) as mg/L. c) Total Suspended Solids (TSS) as mg/L. d) Organic total suspended solids (OTSS) as mg/L.
